Chapter-5: Filter by color

We can filter the data by cell background color or by font color in Excel.

Let’s say we have below given data set.

Data Set for Filter by color

Now we have to filter the dates wherein cells background color is yellow.

Select the entire range and put the filter (Press Shift+Ctrl+L)
Open the drop down and go to the filter by color option.
Go to the Filter by Cell Color and click on yellow color.

Click on OK Button.
Data will be filtered by yellow color

Filtered Data

We also can filter the data by font color

Select the entire range and put the filter (Press Shift+Ctrl+L)
Open the drop down and go to the filter by color option.
Go to the Filter by Font Color and click on red color.

Click on OK Button.
Data will be filtered by red font color
